| 6.45 p.m.-HOME GUARD DEMONSTRATION
BY “D” COMPANY. Arranged and produced by the company Commander,
Captain R. N. S. Mills.
The men participating in this Demonstration will, after receiving
warning, apply the art of Personal Camouflage. Showing how they
can be merged into their local surroundings. This will lead up to
the attack to be made by the men of “B”; Company on
one of the terraces. They will co-operate with “B” company
by probably covering their movements with Smoke Bomb’s etc.

| 7 p.m.-HOME GUARD DEMONSTRATION
BY “B” Company, ARRANGED AND PRODUCED BY THE Company Commander,
Captain R.T. Grier.
At 19.00 hours on Saturday, the 28th August, 1943 information is
received at 16th Battalion Headquarters, that a party of parachutists,
numbering about ten, are landing at Coundon Road, Rugby Football
Ground, and are taking up a strongly defended position on one of
the terraces, “B” Company of the 16th Battalion is allotted
the task of attacking and destroying the enemy. The Platoon Commander,
after making his reconnaissance, decides on a frontal attack under
a covering fire of sub-artillery and smoke screens.

by his brilliant riding achievements in the Isle of Man, Ireland,
Holland, Switzerland, France, Germany and Czecho-slovakia. |
| 7.20 p.m.-DEMONSTRATION BY
BATTALION FIELD ENGINEERS. Devised and Directed by Lieut. Hemens,
Battalion R.E.O.
A bridge is constructed entirely of ropes and poles. The whole
structure is firmly held at each end by steel pickets. The Demonstration
clearly shows how this type of bridge can be used for transporting
men, ammunition and sub-artillery across rivers and other obstacles.
