Sister of Nora Bates (1914 -1991), also a nurse at Nuneaton until her retirement and Mary Bates (1918 - 1979). Nella was a Nursing Sister at Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital, Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry. Injured whilst on Duty at Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital died later the same day at Gulson Road Hospital, Coventry Aged 24.
